Teen Artist Program
Wired Designs Studios has been offering the highest quality adult workshop programs in glass, metals, and jewelry design for over 8 years. Our new Teen Artist Program delivers the best content from our adult workshops and presents that information in a teen friendly package. Each workshop is geared toward fun, empowerment, and an enjoyable learning experience.
Enrollment is limited to students 13—17 years of age and is secured on a first-come, first-served basis. Choose the session that works for your schedule! Purchase 2 workshops at regular price and receive the 3rd workshop for half price, or purchase 3 and get 1 free!
Essentials I – Intro to Fusing
Date: July 8th and 9th, 2010 (Thursday & Friday)
Time: 2:00 – 6:00pm

Pre-Requisite: None
Student will have fun learning the fundamental techniques required for fused glass art.; including a full fusing, tack fusing, and fire polish, while working with multiple types of fusing products including ceramic fiber, adhesives, frit, stringer, and dichroics. Additionally, students will be taught the basic operation of kilns, grinders, saws, flat grinding wheels, and other tools necessary for the production and finishing of glass art. Students will create projects including jewelry, wall art, or clock.
Basics to Beyond — Wire & Glass
Date: July 15th and 16th, 2010 (Thursday & Friday)

In this fun workshop students will build on wire skills to create free form wire wraps of beads, stones, and glass. They will become familiar with the “tools of the trade” and their proper uses. Students will complete several contemporary jewelry designs, including a pendant and matching set of earrings.
Stained Glass Jewelry — Pendants & More
Date: July 21st and 22nd, 2010 (Wednesday & Thursday)
Time: 2:00-6:00pm

Pre-Requisite: None
Student will learn to capture their photos and artwork in keepsake charms. This workshop will teach them how to secure an image between glass and then encase it in a soldered metal frame pendants, charms and more. Special focus will be placed on polishing, patinas, and special effects. Students need to bring 2”x 2”( or smaller) photos and pictures.
Cold Connections I — Riveting & More
Date: July 28th and 29th, 2010 (Wednesday & Thursday)

Students will learn to work with copper, brass, and sterling silver as their base material to create patterned, textured jewelry. Cold connections will put all of your work together as you learn to rivet, install eyelets, and texture, and punch your pieces. Don’t miss this twist on personal style.
