Team Building — Conventions — Private Parties

Offered in a unique private setting, these mini-workshops are specially designed to inspire creativity and create an exciting experience for all participants. Most importantly, these mini-workshops do not require participants to have any prior art experience. 

Mini workshops #1 & #2:  ANCIENT GLASS ADVENTURES 

A. Hot Glass - Kiln Formed Glass Jewelry that Sparkles; Experience Glass in the old-new way. Kiln forming glass may seem new, but it’s actually an ancient practice traced back thousands of years. The Romans stacked glass into clay molds and heated them both in a wood fueled oven, creating some of the worlds most astounding art glass. In this workshop, we’ll use modern techniques to make sparkling dichroic glass earrings or cufflinks in a portable mini-kiln. We’ll cut, stack and fire our creations and watch them form in the heat. Finally, we’ll use a special glass resin to attach the hardware that makes our pieces wearable art! $35 PER PERSON, Minimum 6 participants, ages 16 and up.

B. Cold Glass - Beveled Stained Glass Sun Catchers; Become one of the great glass artisans of the old world for an afternoon! The glint of light from a beveled glass window is nostalgic, but somehow fresh and modern at the same time. This ancient art has become part of our collective heritage in just about every country. Now you can bring it home to remember your old world experience. In this mini-workshop we’ll learn to create a beveled glass suncatcher working with copper foil, solder, flux and more. Join us for this step into the past and give it your own current twist! $45 PER PERSON, Minimum 6 participants, ages 16 and up.

Mini workshop #3:  THE ART OF THE DRINK

Etching of Wine Glasses, Beer Pilsners or High Balls; Enjoy this step into the artistry of glass design. For hundreds of years artisans have created wonderful beverages of celebration that have been revered as works of culinary art! Glass artisans have toiled to create vessels worthy of these beverages. In this workshop, through the process of chemical etching, we’ll create an exciting pair of either wine goblets, beer pilsners, or cocktail glasses (highballs or martini glasses) that will be a perfect addition to your own celebrations. We’ll even make wine charms for your goblets to help you identify your creations! Join us for this fun and artistic pre-dinner experience, then take your new creations to the bar, or dinner table and create your own memorable night!  $35 PER PERSON, Minimum 6 participants, ages 18 and up.

Mini workshops #4 & #5:  BE YOUR OWN JEWELER

A. Silver Casting - Making Personalized Jewelry Charms For Bracelets or Pendants; Experience being your own jeweler while you create your own personalized Silver charms. We’ll hand cast silver using metal clay, texture stamps, and more to create the ultimate in new hollywood style. You can design simple initial charms for bracelets or pendants, or capture a special date, or inspirational word to create the perfect gift. We’ll polish our creations and then antique them to give them the look of timeless treasures. Join us for this leap into metalsmithing, and wear your creations tonight! $35 PER PERSON, Minimum 6 participants, ages 16 and up.

B. Metalsmithing with Semi-Precious Stones - Soldered and Riveted Pendants and Earrings; Channel your inner jewelry designer by creating a pendant or earrings with a bezel set semi-precious stone. Mixed metal jewelry with stones is a style staple and is all the fashion rage. Now you can design your own copper and brass jewelry with turquiouse, onyx, malachite, rose quartz, lapis, or carnelian. We’ll stamp, punch, cut, and solder our pieces, and even bezel set our own stones! We’ll even antique our creations to give them a worn southwestern vibe. Join us for this leap into metalsmithing, and wear your creations tonight! $45 PER PERSON, Minimum 6 participants, ages 18 and up.

Mini workshop #6:  STAINED GLASS JEWELRY
Want to capture your favorite images in a keepsake you can treasure forever? We will teach participants how to secure an image between glass and then encase it in a soldered metal frame. We will use a soldering iron with copper foil (a stained glass technique) to create your own pendant. $35 PER PERSON, Minimum 6 participants, ages 18 and up.

Mini workshop #7 & #8:  MAKE YOUR OWN FUNCTIONAL GLASSWARE

A. PENDANT LIGHTS; Make quick and easy drop pendant lighting with us! We’ll cut the glass and you design to your hearts content. This fun and fast workshop allows you to make simple pendant lighting in a snap. Your hardware is included! Pendant lights are perfect for island lighting, or over tables, and so much more. It’s so easy, you can fill your life with light. $50 PER PERSON, Minimum 6 participants, ages 18 and up.

B. 9" BOWLS; Make quick and easy serving bowls for your chips, dip, or guac with us! We’ll cut the glass and you design to your hearts content. This fun and fast workshop allows you to make spectacular serving bowls for your dinner table in a snap. It’s so fun and easy, you 'll love it!. $50 PER PERSON, Minimum 6 participants, ages 18 and up.
