This exciting workshop will introduce artists working in all disciplines of glass to the art and science of copper electroforming on glass. Electroforming is the process of depositing layers of metal onto a prepared electroconductive surface. With the proper preparation, even the non-conductive surface of glass can be encrusted with a beautiful copper skin. Glass jewelry makers will especially love the excitement and ease of creating special effects with electroforming. Students will learn the each step in the electroforming process including; preparing a piece of glass, equipment set up, material set up, electroforming in the bath, clean up, and final polishing. Students will electroform a small glass pendant in this workshop. Students bring: Safety glasses, note pad, pencil.
